The Introductory Video

The gospel was preached before to Abraham saying, “in thee all nations will be blessed” (Gal 3:8). This gospel is our salvation and the same one we preach, for there is no other gospel. We are told

“Thou hast given an ensign (Hebrew: nes) to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth.” (Psa 60:4).

There is an imperative implied in the words of Isaiah lift up an ensign over the peoples.

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth: say ye to the daughter of Zion: ‘Behold, thy salvation comes; behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.’ (Isaiah 62:6-11)

If the nations wish to deny the prophets and revile God’s witnesses, who will stand by the Jews who believe the words of the Prophets as precious, to encourage them? We know from the scriptures that as a witness to us, and the nations, they being gathered, as Ezekiel wrote to be one nation on the mountains of Israel

Progress in Construction

Due to the time of the winter or ‘former rains’ they have anticpated our fund raising to put on a roof. The time of Passover is the time of the latter rains. In Israel winter rain can be heavy and so there is not much building done. As you can see from the photos there are puddles.

Ahav is love in Hebrew
Ahav and love sound similar. Love(d) is also ahava. Hebrew scholars place emphasis on the first occurrence of a word in the Hebrew Bible. The very first occurrence of the precise word for love as on the keyring is,

And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved (ahava) her. And Isaac was comforted for his mother. (Gen 24:67)

We can then understand what is asked of us in the very next occurrence,

And now, Israel, what does the LORD thy God require of you, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love (ahava) Him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul; (Deu. 10:12)

The first occurrence of the word ahava was associated with Isaac, linking it to the work at Isaac’s beacons, Masuo’ot Yitzhak, on the path of the Patriarchs where the locals identify with Abraham’s journey to the offering of Isaac.

This design began as an immensely popular card design by the American Robert Indiana capturing the essential of Christianity. It was made into large rusted steel (corten) sculptures and it was featured in a few American cities including Philadelphia. In 1978 the word was commissioned as a public sculpture in Hebrew, as a gift to the Israel Museum, to express love for Israel.

Some other interesting points: We launch this, with a design from 1978, at Chanukah, the Feast of Dedication or Feast of Lights (even beacons?) which is related to the Maccabeans who, as Daniel was told, would “be strong and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32)
Modi’in was Founded in 1978. It is “Located in the Foothills of the Judean Hills midway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Modi’in is the ancient hometown of the Hasmoneans, or Maccabeans, that ousted the Syrian-Greek overlords from the Land of Israel in the 2nd century BCE. The revolt began under the military leadership of Judah Maccabee and is the basis for the holiday of Hanukah.” see

Shall Isarel be scattered or sent to the Wilderness again?

There has been concern raised by one Recording Brother in the UK that Israel will be scattered again based on Ezekiel 20:35-6. In context, the whole world will be affected shortly by events, even the isles shall not escape (Ezekiel 39:6). Despite knowing of the soon to be seen global effect of the earthquake of Zechariah 14, we as a body, still build new halls, schools and aged care facilities and our members new houses.  This work is for today, and until our Lord comes.

Yet there is a point. The prophecy of the scripture is given to a number of prophets and those words had relevant points for the different times they were given. This means we have to piece them together. Typically we do better at that once they are fulfilled. But there is no harm in trying to put them together to understand the multi-dimensional events. Each of us may piece them together differently, and like the Bereans we welcome feedback.

The bee keeper and a fruitful land

This excerpt below is from a newly released video of the Holy Land from 1913 made for the 11th Zionist congress. It was a showcase of Jewish success. It showed a winery then, they spent some time filming bee keepers making honey. Why is it that a huge bunch of grapes proved the Promised Land was one flowing with milk and honey? And how might a Christadelpian have helped the Jewish wine industry?

The Witness of Light: effects in industrial Britain

We may wonder if our public witness regarding prophecy has any effect. An analysis of history shows it is significant. There is a direct connection between the light of the truth and Britain’s role in the Balfour declaration which hinges on attitudes in Manchester, Leeds & Birmingham.
